Step-by-step guide to using ribbons on artificial Christmas trees

It’s just some weeks to Christmas. Kids are waiting and moms are looking to get the homes decked. Whatever your take, here are ways you can bypass Christmas ornaments (think wreaths, lights, and popcorn strings) to spruce up your space!

A few ribbons around your tree does magic. You may also choose to select types and colors that suit your taste.

This holiday season, be sure to style your artificial Christmas tree with ribbons by using the following tips:

GET YOUR TREE PREPARED

Before adding a ribbon to your tree, make sure it is set up properly. Be sure to fluff your artificial Christmas tree and plug in the lights. Live Christmas trees, on the other hand, should be watered well and have all of their lights on.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT RIBBON

Your tree’s ribbon should be patterned and of a specific type. Wired ribbons can be used all year round because they maintain their shape. The thicker ribbons (2 to 5 inches) fit easily into gap between trees of all sizes and won’t fall off the branches.

ARRANGE RIBBONS INTO LAYERS

Layering ribbons will lead to a more diverse and fuller look than using just one material, style, or color.

TUCK AND TWIST

If you are looking for a simple DIY decorating tip, you can tie ends of ribbon together using a floral wire or pipe cleaners. Twist the end deeply into the tree, then around an inner branch, and return to the beginning point.

SELECT A RIBBON TECHNIQUE

You can then pick a pattern that interests you, whether S-shaped, zig-zag, or designer.

MOVE A STEP BACK FROM YOUR TREE

Once a while, step back and assess your tree’s design. By doing so, you can see problems in your design from a different perspective and rework them accordingly. You may also choose to add other Christmas ornaments if you will.
